BRIEF DESCRIPTION: DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, PATROL, ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION, TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT, NARCOTIC INVESTIGATION AND CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION. WE OFFER SPECIALIZED ASSIGNMENTS TO OUR COUNTY-WIDE TACTICAL NARCOTICS TEAM (TNT), K-9, CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION, FORENSIC SCIENCE, AND COMMUNITY POLICING PROGRAMS.
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST BE A RESIDENT OF IOWA, BE A UNITED STATES CITIZEN, AND LIVE IN MONTGOMERY
COUNTY AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT (PREFERABLY WITHIN THE RED OAK CITY LIMITS).
MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE BY JULY 1, 2002, BE ABLE TO PASS A WRITTEN, VISION,
HEARING, PHYSICAL EXAMINATION, PHYSICAL AGILITY, ORAL, AND PSYCHOLOGICAL
EXAMINATIONS. BE OF GOOD MORAL CHARACTER. NEVER HAVE BEEN CONVICTED
OF A FELONY, OR HAVE A MISDEMEANOR CONVICTION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.
MUST BE A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE OR EQUIVALENT. MUST POSSES THE ABILITY
TO READ, WRITE AND UNDERSTAND THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, WITH EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
SKILLS, AND MEET DEADLINES. MUST HAVE ABILITY AND DEDICATION TO QUALITY
FOR, AND SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE, THE IOWA LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY 12 WEEK
PROGRAM. MUST POSSESS A VALID IOWA DRIVER'S LICENSE, UPON APPOINTMENT.
DRIVERS LICENSE AND CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS WILL BE CONDUCTED ON ALL APPLICATIONS.

AND RESUME', PLUS MILITARY DD214, IF APPLICABLE. EACH APPLICANT MUST
